Care providers often assist persons with impaired mobility to walk and move to wheelchairs, toilets, and beds. This program teaches nursing assistants how to assist with transfer and ambulation in a way the protects the safety of both patient and healthcare provider. It demonstrates how to perform a pivot transfer from bed to wheelchair and back, a pivot transfer from wheelchair to toilet and back, a two-person lift from bed to wheelchair, and a transfer using a mechanical lift. It also shows how to assist a patient with ambulation and prevent injury during a fall.
