Kim and Service Dog Jamie (03:09)

Jamie, a golden retriever, is a psychiatric service dog for Ki, who suffers from PTSD and Dissociative Identity Disorder. The experiences Kim had while overseas led her to having a difficult time in public, living on her own, and other regular activities. Kim found someone who wanted to train Jamie for free.
Psychiatric Service Dog (03:07)
Before Jamie, Kim slept all day, was on several medications, and could not be in public. Jamie helps Kim by reducing her anxiety and providing comfort when she has episodes. Jamie alerts Kim by pulling her to the ground, catching behavior early.
Jamie's Skills (04:11)
Jamie is friendly and wants to meet everyone, and that helps Kim be more confident and at ease in public. Kim has not met her husband's friends or cooked him a meal on her own. Jamie calms and reassures Kim when situations become too much.
Training Dogs (01:30)
Dominium Service Dogs is a non-profit organization that trains service dogs for people suffering from PTSD. Lisa Marie trains pups to lie down and stay while their handlers back away and then go out of the room. Handlers should train their own dogs because to create a stronger bond.
Cece and Therapy Cat Aragon (04:30)
Aragon, a domesticated Bengal, helps Cece who has a variety of challenging mental conditions. Cece went to Bengal Rescue and met Aragon. Aragon helps Cece relax, engage with her environment, and gives her a sense of purpose.
Pet Partners (04:30)
Cece got Aragon certified through the national organization that bonds owner and pets through a training process. They provide therapy for others at nursing homes, schools, and hospitals. Cece takes Aragon to visit an at-risk teen shelter.
