At Griffith’s Pygmies, Kathy and her husband train goats and breed them for show. The goats receive sensitivity training, so they are not scared of noise and can be around children with special needs. Pygmy goats are used as therapy animals at schools, hospitals, nursing homes, and rehabilitation centers.

Sam and Molly (03:52)

Mollym a golden retriever, is a service dog for Sam, who has seizures and PTSD. Molly warns Sam of oncoming seizures by gently biting her hand. Molly was trained to grab medication, push Sam to the ground when a seizure is coming, prevent injuries by stopping falls, and getting help.

Molly Provides Freedom (06:06)

Sam received Molly from MSAR Service Dogs as a therapy dog for PTSD; she also needed Molly for seizure response. Seizure response training takes a long time, and does not always work, but within a month, Molly was detecting seizures for Sam. Because of Molly, Sam can now do many things by herself.
