The chorus performed, sang, and danced in the orchestra. Dimitris Rontiris began his career as an actor, studying under Max Reinhardt. The director beat the rhythm of the play so the actors could follow the vocal cadence.
When King Agamemnon returns from the Trojan War, his wife Clytemnestra and Aegisthus murder him. Electra laments the death of her father with the chorus. Chrysothemis notifies the protagonist that her brother is not dead.
Orestes tells Electra not to mourn. The chorus rejoices that order has been restored to the kingdom after Orestes slays Clytemnestra and Aegisthus.
