Humankind’s first attempts at flight can be traced back to the 1200s when the Chinese used giant kites to lift humans into the air. This fascination with flying continued to grow as did our understanding of the physics of flight and the ways which we could control it. This visually exciting CD-ROM combines video from the US Air Force, Navy, and NASA, along with audio and still photography, to explore the fundamentals of aeronautics. It begins with the basic parts of an airplane, then moves on to the physics of flight and engineering design. Finally, the user can examine flight controls which pilots use, including altimeter, speedometer, and stall warning device. What an interesting and interactive way to introduce the fundamentals of aeronautics! A Shopware Production. One Windows CD-ROM and reproducible quizzes. Macintosh version also available.
